Aids Walk Detroit - September 16, 2007 Downtown Royal Oak Steppin' Out presented AIDS Walk Detroit this past September. It was a 5K (3.2-mile) fundraising walk and run that benefits thousands of people living with HIV/AIDS while increasing community awareness and educating Michiganders about HIV/AIDS. The goal was to help raise much needed money for agencies that assist people living with HIV/AIDS. Steppin’ Out is the largest grass roots HIV/AIDS fundraising organization in Michigan. They have granted over $2.5 million to agencies that provide prevention/education and direct care services to people living in the Detroit Metropolitan area. This event raises more than $350,000 per year for HIV/AIDS agencies in Metro Detroit. The EFS C.A.R.E. CORP was proud to be a part of this very important event. Each team member raised sponsorship dollars individually and Erickson's matched these contributions. The team's efforts paid off and as a whole raised a total of $4000. Way to go EFS C.A.R.E CORP!
